March 27, - Our flight took off a 8:00 am went to Dallas, TX. Took off from there at 1:00 pm. got to New York at 5:30 pm. got to our room at Fairfield Inn met our team had dinner with them and got to know them it was a nice dinner, in our room relaxing getting ready for bed. over all it was a good day.
The Next day we all met at JFK international Airport to get on the plane, We got to meet everyone there, we boarded and took off, This was our 2nd time going overseas to another country, it was exciting and very exciting to know that we were going to Israel, We always wanted to go to the land of the Bible. Wow.
Our first day in Israel...it was a very exciting feeling everything was in Jewish letters and Flags, We boarded a Bus in was a very nice bus fully loaded, our guide her name was Nellie or Nelly she was our guide and she would be our guide for the next 9 days on our tour, she was very good at what she did. We took a ride about 1 1/2 hour ride from the Airport to Jerusalem...this short trip was amazing, to see the hills and then the mountain areas, I never knew that Israel had beautiful mountain areas I was surprise to see such beautiful places, I only see the desert and wastelands on TV...Just thought that Israel was mostly like that.
When we first come into Jerusalem it was so surreal, We were now driving through the city the new city of Jerusalem, seeing all the Jewish people, some of the men wearing their hats and long coats and long curly side beards, seeing the town was so amazing, I thought to myself, we are really here, Wow!!, We made it to our hotel and there Devorah Gainaii of the Jewish Agency met us and greeted us and she said to us Welcome home, Wow that made us feel so welcome into this land called Israel.
Wow..is the only that you can say in most places, in Jerusalem so many things to see and places on History from the Bible, You read a scripture that you have read for years, and you think about it in a certain way, but when you get there it's not even the way you thought it would be... Amazing, The word of the Lord comes alive at you....at the same time the amazing things that you see there comes at you , and all you could do is take out your camera and start taking pictures, today alone I have taken about almost 300 pictures, thank God I had enough data on my sim card...today was raining but that did not stop us from going the the old city, entering the city and all the way to the western wall and back to the upper room which I would say is about one mile in length all together, and each of the way was so amazing, all the shops to see all the food to experience there ...so good. glad we had good friends as tour guides and a nice cozy bus to ride in. People that surrounding us all day making sure that we were alright. brought so much comfort to me because they were looking out for Tyda, much love these friends have for her. it was good to know that. our day ended at the upper room, as I prayed there for the state of Israel and Jerusalem ..What an honor that was to pray and to pray in Navajo, What an honor to pray in the Holy Lands.
